Tri Training for Beginners

Group Triathlon Training for Beginners

Our most popular group training offers women of all ages, sizes, and levels of fitness a 12-week program focused on completing a local Sprint Distance Triathlon (approx. .25 mi swim, 11 mi. bike, 2.5 mi. run). Our target races for this beginner group are generally women-only events, non-intimidating, and supportive of first-time or beginner level triathletes.

We’ll cover all of the basics of triathlon, including technique and skills instruction in all three sports, transition area logistics, and race day strategy. We’ll train as a group three times a week in a supportive, non-intimidating environment where you’ll be encouraged to challenge yourself based on your current level of fitness. For those of who have the time and/or desire to train more than three days a week, you’ll be provided with a 12 week calendar that gives you optional workouts to do on your own on the days we don’t meet as a group.

The first several weeks of this program are spent reviewing fundamental skills in swimming, biking and running. The key to this program is ‘safety and technique before speed’, which we firmly believe is the right way to approach a new sport.
