12 Week Program for Beginners
This popular session offers women of all ages, sizes, and levels of fitness a program focused on completing a local Sprint Distance Triathlon (approx. .25 mi swim, 11 mi. bike, 2.5 mi. run). Our target races for this beginner group are generally women-only events, non-intimidating, and supportive of first-time or beginner level triathletes.
We’ll cover all of the basics of triathlon, including technique and skills instruction in all three sports, transition area logistics, what to wear, what to eat, and race day strategy. We’ll train as a group three times a week in a supportive environment where you’ll be encouraged to challenge yourself based on your current level of fitness. For those of who have the time and/or desire to train more than three days a week, you’ll be provided with a 16 week calendar that gives you optional workouts to do on your own on the days we don’t meet as a group.
12 Week Program for Experienced Triathletes
This program is very similar to our program for beginners, the difference being that we assume participants already have the basic triathlon ‘how to’s” under their belts. That said, we still encourage all levels of fitness to this program, and we still take a ‘start where you are’ approach to training in this program. We’ll jump right into base training and skip instruction on things like tire changing, what to wear, bike handling skills, and the like. If you’re not sure which program is right for you, drop us a note or give us a call. We’d be more than happy to help you figure it out.
We’ll meet 3 times a week as a group, and you’ll be provided with a 12 week training plan that will also give you ‘optional’ workouts to do on the non group days. Whenever possible, we’ll organize participants by level of fitness and experience so that no one gets left behind. In any case, your coaches will be there to support, challenge and encourage you throughout the program.
2015 dates for our beginner and experienced programs coming soon!
